PCC Student Pantry Receives Grant from Express Employment Professionals

PUEBLO, Colo., May 4, 2015 (3:00 p.m.) – Express Employment Professionals, the nation’s largest franchised staffing company, along with its franchise location in Pueblo, Colorado, are donating $10,000 to Pueblo Community College Foundation/Food Pantry, which manages the Panther Student Pantry, a student run and employee sponsored food bank designed to help students at the Canon City and Pueblo campuses of Pueblo Community College.

The donation is part of The Impact Project, an initiative of the company’s philanthropic committee, designed to give back to nonprofits nominated by franchisees among their 725 franchise locations.

“We pride ourselves on having a culture built on giving and service at Express,” said Bob Funk, CEO of Express Employment Professionals. “With that in mind, we know how important it is to support the communities where we work, serve and live. The dedication and support of franchisee Renee Rodriquez and her team at the Express office in Pueblo have shown for the Pueblo Community College Foundation is a great example of that service.”

The Pueblo Community College Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that serves the students on the campuses of the Pueblo Community College. With nearly 50 percent of students living at or below federal poverty levels, the food bank on campus provides much needed items for students working to better their lives.

“I’m honored to be a part of a company that believes so strongly in giving back to the communities where we live,” Rodriquez said. “The Pueblo Community College Foundation holds a special place in the heart of our team at Express and we’re excited they were selected as one of the charities to receive this donation.”

Express puts people to work. It generated $2.85 billion in sales and employed more than 456,000 people in 2014, and ranks as the largest franchised staffing company and second largest privately held staffing company in the United States. Its long-term goal is to put a million people to work annually.

The Express franchise in Pueblo began operation in 1987. They serve Pueblo and the surrounding areas with temporary help and direct hire employees in a variety of fields, including administrative, commercial, data processing, technical, sales, marketing and more.
