Help Furnish Fremont

Calling All Friends of the Fremont Campus of Pueblo Community College:

Fremont Campus BldgOn Tuesday, August 5, a ceremony took place to officially brake ground on the much-needed Student Commons addition to the Fremont Campus.  Shortly thereafter construction began and we are hopeful that the new addition will be open for student use at the start of Spring Semester 2015.

It truly “took a village” from the Fremont and Custer county residents who rolled up their sleeves in order to raise the funding necessary to construct this campus addition.  From the initial phase of the project – which funded upgrades to the existing facility – through the final capital campaign – which raised the funding necessary to construct this new addition; we are thrilled to report to you that this dream will soon become a reality.

Once completed, the 2,820 square-foot addition will be built to accommodate the space needed for student use including the housing of club meetings, student and campus functions and – once furnished – the facility will be available to the Fremont and Custer county community organizations who are looking for space for their meetings and small special events.  Once constructed, this new site will be of benefit to the the total campus and the community at large!

Needless to say, the construction did not come without some challenges.  Due to the final soil analysis; it was determined that the building supports would have to run deeper than anticipated.  This structural adjustment has added to the overall construction cost; thus making for a shortfall of cash needed to furnish the new addition.

At this time, the Pueblo Community College Foundation is working in tandem with the Fremont Campus Administration on a joint fundraising effort to secure an additional $50,000 in donations by year’s end.  We would be most honored if you would agree to make a tax-deductible donation NOW to the PCC Foundation which will help in raising the funding necessary to completely equip and furnish the new Student Commons addition prior to its opening in January 2015.

To become involved with the FURNISH FREMONT campaign, simply send your tax-deductible donation (made payable to the Pueblo Community College Foundation) to the PCC Foundation, 900 W. Orman Avenue – AB194, Pueblo, CO 81004.  Any and all support of this very special campaign will be greatly appreciated!

In closing, we thank you for your consideration of support and we will anticipate your joining with us in the coming days to celebrate the official grand opening of the PCC Fremont Campus’ Student Commons addition!

Most Sincerely,
