PCC Foundation Participates in 2016 Colorado Gives Day of Philanthropic Giving in Colorado

PCC Foundation Participates in 2016 Colorado Gives Day of Philanthropic Giving in Colorado

indexThe Pueblo Community College Foundation will again be participating in the 2016 edition of Colorado Gives, a statewide day of giving which will take place on December 6.  The Foundation is encouraging all donors to consider making their year-end tax-deductible gift to the PCC Foundation on that day with the intent of raising even more funding for the Foundation’s student scholarship program and the college’s programs of academic excellence.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this year’s Colorado Gives Day,” explains PCC Foundation Director Martha Simmons.  “This truly is a ‘give where you live’ campaign that can have a major impact on our Foundation and those students and college programs which we seek to serve.”

Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through an organized online giving platform.  For the sixth consecutive year, Community First Foundation and FirstBank are partnering to present Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.

The 2015 Colorado Gives Day topped all projections and raised $28.4 million for 1,884 nonprofits during the 24 hours of giving.

The PCC Foundation’s staff and volunteers will be working to mobilize its donors over the next few weeks in an all-out social media campaign; encouraging PCC administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni and Friends of the Foundation to ‘give the gift of education’ during the 2016 edition of Colorado Gives on December 6.  Funds generated during this year’s campaign will support the Foundation’s student scholarship program, the college’s programs of academic excellence or a specific student help program such as the PCC Panther Student Pantry or the Foundation’s Helping Hands program which offers immediate financial assistance to those students who are financially struggling while attending one of the college’s four campuses (Pueblo, Canon City, Durango or Mancos / Cortez).

Anyone may become involved with the PCC Foundation’s Colorado Gives campaign by CLICKING HERE or logging on to the Foundation’s Colorado Gives donor page.  Donations may be made NOW through midnight on  December 6 and, if made in advance of December 6, the donations may be deferred for credit to the December 6 campaign.

“We hope that many within the southern Colorado communities and beyond will become involved with the PCC Foundation’s efforts to raise additional funding during the 2016 Colorado Gives Day,” explained Simmons.  “Whatever you can give will benefit those students and college programs that the PCC Foundation works to support.”
