Pueblo Community College is the place local aspiring EMTs and paramedics go to learn their skills. PCC offers all three levels of emergency medical services training – introductory emergency medical technician (also called basic, though it’s anything but), intermediate EMT and paramedic.

All levels require classroom, clinical and field work. PCC has connections with both local hospitals and AMR ambulance service for field work and internships.

Dawn Mathis is the head of the school’s EMS education department. She was a paramedic in Summit County for 10 years before joining the faculty at PCC, where she’s been for the past 10 years.
