Lend Your Support to those PCC Students In Need during the COVID-19 Crisis

Each and every one of us are struggling during this COVID-19 Crisis! The disruption to our daily lives is taking a toll on our sense of well being. To most of us – who are reading this email – this crisis is an major annoyance that will soon come to an end. To others, this crisis is taking a serious financial toll on their everyday existence and for many…the ramifications of this crisis are real and will be felt for many months to come!

The Pueblo Community College Foundation has mobilized a special fundraising campaign to support our students who are now in financial crisis!

For the past week, we have heard from many PCC faculty and staff about those students who are in dire need of financial support. We are told about many students who have lost their full or part-time jobs and are now left to worry about how they will make their rent or mortgage payment, how they will make their utility payment, how they will be able to continue with their classes when they have no access to the internet, and many do not have the funding to purchase groceries for themselves and their family members. The stories are heart wrenching!

The PCC Foundation has established a PCCF COVID-19 STUDENT RELIEF FUND which is up and running now; accepting donations for our students in need of financial support. Once we hit our initial goal of $10,000 we will begin disseminating the application information to the PCC community explaining how students may apply for this funding. This funding will be made available to pay for a portion of their rent or mortgage payments, their utility bills or internet fees or will offer grocery gift cards to help in providing food for themselves and their family members.
