Lend your support to PCCF on December 9

The Pueblo Community College Foundation is honored to be a nonprofit partner for the 2014 edition of Colorado Gives Day which will take place on Tuesday, December 9 from 12:01 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.

Your support of the PCC Foundation during this single day of philanthropic giving in Colorado would be greatly appreciated by the PCC Foundation and by those PCC students and academic programs which we seek to serve.

Did you know that by donating…

  • $5/month to the PCC Foundation and designating the PCC Student Pantry under the program donation tab, you can help to provide non-perishable food items to our students in need of immediate nourishment.
  • $10/month to the PCC Foundation’s Helping Hands Grant Program under the program donation tab, you can help to pay for a student’s lapsed utility bill or to help in purchasing a fuel or grocery card that will help when funds get low and times get rough.
  • $50/month to the PCC Foundation’s Scholarship Program under the program donation tab, you can help a PCC student by offering them the funds to pay for books and/or classroom supplies during the coming school year.
  • $100 on December 9, you can help to purchase the supplies needed to furnish the NEW Fremont Commons addition (which will open early in 2015).

Any and all support of this major statewide campaign would be GREATLY appreciated by each of us!

About Colorado Gives

Community First Foundation, an Arvada-based foundation dedicated to increasing community generosity, and FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally-owned bank, have joined together to present the fifth consecutive Colorado Gives Day, an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.

The 2014 Colorado Gives Day will take place on Tuesday, December 9.

Donors are being encouraged to join the Colorado Gives movement and “give where you live” in an effort to raise millions of dollars for Colorado nonprofits.

Colorado Gives Day is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving website featuring nearly 1,500 Colorado nonprofit organizations.

Community First Foundation and FirstBank have partnered to present Colorado Gives Day since 2010. In addition to raising money, Colorado Gives Day raises awareness of the state’s nonprofit sector, unites Coloradans in a common goal to strengthen the state’s nonprofits, and educates communities on the benefits of online giving by making fundraising simple for nonprofits and easy for donors.

To date, the program has distributed $58.1 million to Colorado nonprofits ($8.7 million in 2010, $12.8 million in 2011, $15.7 million in 2012 and $20.9 million in 2013). Colorado Gives Day is one of the most successful events of-its-kind in the nation.

New This Year – $1 Million Incentive Fund

To motivate donors to give on Colorado Gives Day, Community First Foundation and FirstBank partnered to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund. The incentive fund, one of the largest giving-day incentive funds in the country, proportionally increases the value of every dollar donated. For example, if a nonprofit organization receives 10 percent of the total donations made on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives 10 percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund. The 2014 Incentive Fund is 300 percent larger than last year.
“A $1 Million Incentive Fund is a very exciting way to boost generosity among Coloradans and support the nonprofit organizations in our state,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “We are proud of Colorado Gives Day and grateful to the hardworking nonprofits and generous donors who turn a single 24-hour period into a huge community benefit.

“We are proud to continue to support Colorado Gives Day, especially as it has grown to be the state’s largest online giving event,” said John Ikard, CEO of FirstBank Holding Company. “Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our citizens, Colorado Gives Day has become more than just a day. It is a movement that inspires and unites thousands of donors to support Colorado nonprofits.”

Thanks to FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day also offers nonprofits the opportunity to win cash prizes to support their worthwhile causes. An additional $100,000 will be distributed to nonprofits through a Luck-of-the-Draw process.
