2022 PCCF Scholar Donor Reception Held on October 20

Nearly 300 people attended the annual PCC Foundation Scholar Donor Reception that took place on October 20 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Fortino Ballroom on the Pueblo Campus. The annual gathering offered PCC Foundation scholarship donors the opportunity to meet with their scholar recipients and learn about their educational endeavors.

Martha Simmons, Director of the PCC Foundation acted as emcee for the program during the event and reported the following PCCF scholarship statistics

This year the PCC Foundation will be the vehicle to award over 400 student scholarships.

The breakout of our scholarship awards are as follows:

  • The Foundation will award $540,353 in donor directed scholarships.
  • The Foundation will award $89,052 in third party scholarships.
  • The Foundation will award $3,500 in matched scholarships.
  • And…. the Foundation will again be working with the CO Department of Higher Education to award $104,756 in Return to Earn scholarships.

In total, the PCC Foundation will award a total of $737,662 in scholarships to PCC students who are pursuing their higher educational endeavors at our campuses in Pueblo, Canon City, Mancos/Cortez and at our educational sites in Bayfield and Durango.

Joining Simmons at the podium during the October 20 program were Andrea Aragon, Executive Director of the Robert Hoag Rawlings Foundation speaking to donor support of PCCF scholarships; Michelle Wold, PCCF Alumni Scholar Recipient encouraging current scholars to make good use of their time at PCC and their scholarship donor support and suggesting they “pay it forward” when the opportunity presents itself and PCC President Dr. Patty Erjavec who closed out the program by toasting both the donors and the 2022/2023 Class of PCCF Scholars!
