So Long… Farewell!
So Long…Farewell…Auf Wiedersehen…Goodbye!
As I am preparing to depart from my position at the Pueblo Community Foundation, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the friendship and unwavering support you have given me over the past 11 years. My role here has never been just a job; it has become a defining part of who I am and a profound source of pride for me and my family. Returning home to close out this chapter of my career at Pueblo Community College has been nothing short of fulfilling. I felt my parents’ presence and support every day, inspiring me to continue their commitment to advancing higher education in southern Colorado.
After 11 remarkable years as the Foundation’s Director, I am stepping down to embrace a new chapter in northern Colorado, focusing on family, friends, and eventually soaking up the sunshine at various beach destinations. Before I go, I want to take a moment to convey my deepest appreciation for your steadfast support of PCC and the PCC Foundation.
Your generous contributions have been essential in fulfilling the foundation’s mission—providing scholarships to students and promoting academic excellence at Pueblo Community College. Witnessing firsthand the impact of your generosity has been an incredible privilege. Your belief in our mission has ignited our passion and enabled us to achieve extraordinary results. In these past 11 years, we raised over $39 million for student scholarships and academic programs; the foundation’s endowment has grown from $4 million to $21 million and our annual scholarship awards have skyrocketed from $245,000 to over $1 million!
I am confident that the Foundation will continue to flourish under the leadership of its new CEO Julie Rodriguez. As a Pueblo native and proven community leader, Julie will dedicate her time and talents to elevating PCCF to new heights. Your ongoing support for Julie and the Foundation will remain vital to its continued success.
One last time, I thank YOU for your partnership and commitment to Pueblo Community College and the PCC Foundation. I am truly honored to have been the recipient of your friendship and support!
Most Sincerely,
Martha Simmons
