PCC Foundation to offer hundreds of scholarships this fall/spring
Thanks to the generosity of many, the Pueblo Community College Foundation has awarded hundreds of scholarships to those students who will be attending PCC during the 20/21 academic year.
“Although COVID-19 delayed the process a bit, the Foundation has been working diligently to contact
eligible students of their scholarship awards,” reports PCCF President Theresa Dudley. “We are most grateful to each and everyone of our donors for their continued investment in the PCCF scholarship program which allows our Foundation the opportunity to make these financial awards to PCC students who are pursuing their higher educational endeavors at our campuses in Pueblo, Canon City, Mancos/Cortes and at our sites in Bayfield and Durango.”
In May, four area students were selected by the Pueblo Community College Foundation to receive Kane Family Foundation Scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year. Centennial High School graduate Rachel Baird and Pueblo West High School graduate Ashlynn Danielson were selected to receive the opportunity to complete their associate’s degrees at Pueblo Community College via the Kane PCC Scholarship.
Doherty High School graduate Leighton Eckrich and Canon City High School graduate Steven Purdy were awarded Kane Family Foundation Pueblo Community College – University Connection scholarships; offering both the opportunity to obtain their associate degrees at PCC and then transfer on to obtain their bachelor degrees at Colorado State University – Pueblo.
The Kane Family Foundation is a merit-based scholarship program that provides the full cost of tuition, books and mandatory fees for selected students who maintain scholarship eligibility through graduation.
In addition the Kane Family Foundation scholarship awards, the Foundation offers a variety of other substantial financial scholarship awards to PCC students on behalf of Battelle, the Daniels Fund (Boundless Opportunity), Ent Credit Union, the Fremont Advisory Council, the Jennie & Albert Gersick Foundation, Newmont Mining Corporation, Pinnacol, Posada of Pueblo, the Max & Kathleen Watts Foundation, and the Women’s Foundation.
Legacy Bank and other local donors have committed their financial resources along with the Colorado Department of Higher Education via the Colorado Scholarship Initiative (COSI). These scholarships will be awarded to many PCC students who have had to take pause of their education and will be returning to PCC this fall/spring to complete their educational endeavors.
