PCC TO OFFER A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS THIS FALL PCC
Flex will kick off August 17
From the Canon City Daily Record – July 16, 2020
Pueblo Community College is offering students a new option for the fall 2020 semester — PCC Flex.
The college announced the option Wednesday in a press release. PCC Flex allows students to choose between attending class in person or live online. The option is for students who may not be ready to return to face-to-face classes, have family obligations, or are sick.
Students can attend class on campus some days and online others, depending on their needs, the release stated.
The college plans to return to normal class operations Aug. 17, barring any changes because of the coronavirus pandemic. It plans to utilize instruction in the form of face to face, remote and online.
President Patty Erjavec said all campuses, including the Fremont Campus in Cañon City, will continue to follow health and safety precautions recommended by public health officials. Students and employees will be required to wear masks, get daily health screenings and practice social distancing.
“Our top priority always will be the safety of our employees and students,” Erjavec said. “We pride ourselves on being a student-centric institution and the team here has made remarkable efforts to deliver on the PCC Promise as we maneuver through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“PCC Flex is another example of our commitment to academic and student success.”
The fall semester will end Dec. 12. After Thanksgiving break, which is Nov. 23-27, most courses will be conducted remotely for the final two weeks of the term. Career and technical education classes that require hands-on instruction and labs – healthcare, welding, culinary arts and automotive service technology – will continue with on-campus instruction.
