PCC to Host Grand Opening of Nursing & Allied Health Teaching & Learning Center at SMC Campus in Pueblo
Pueblo Community College will be hosting the grand opening for the Nursing & Allied Health Teaching & Learning Center located on the St. Mary Corwin Campus in Pueblo on Thursday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. Everyone who has a tie to this project is invited to attend and celebrate this major addition to higher education in southern Colorado.
This grand opening event will culminate a total group effort between PCC’s administration, faculty and staff working in tandem with the PCC Grant Office and the Foundation to convert the historical East Tower of St. Mary Corwin Medical Center into a state-of-the-art teaching and learning center!
PCC will be highlighting the many program elements housed within this new facility during the January 26 grand opening and the PCC Foundation will be showcasing those individuals, business and organizations who donated in order to make this project possible!
The Pueblo Community College Foundation would like to officially recognize the largest of the 82 donors who committed to financially support this project raising a total of $14,605,685 including:
Mary Jane Voelker – $7,275,000
Economic Development Administration – $4,900,000
Walter Schepp – $1,000,000
Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority – $500,000
El Pomar Foundation – $250,000
K. R. Swerdfeger, Pueblo Board of County Commissioners and the Robet Hoag Rawlings Foundation have each donated $100,000
Boettcher Foundation – $75,000
The Colorado Heath Foundation and Legacy Bank now InBANK have each donated $50,000
An Anonymous Donor and the GE Johnson Foundation/HW Houston Construction have donated $40,000
Ed & Helen Robinson – $20,000
The Ryals Family Foundation – $15,000
The US Bank Foundation – $12,000
The Buell Foundation – $10,000
The remaining donations were given by 67 individuals businesses and organizations and those donations equaled $68,685. These donations ranged in amounts from $25 to $7,000.
