OSHA Awards Grant to PCC

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has awarded a $59,354 Susan Harwood Training Grant to Pueblo Community College’s Economic and Workforce Development Division.

PCC officials said the school will target audiences of small businesses, high-hazard industries, and minority and hard-to-reach workers while addressing the highest-need industries in the region. Specifically addressed will be hospitals, nursing homes and residential care facilities.

“When it comes to safety training, our goal is to ensure that all employees go home each day safe and well,” said Amanda Corum, director of EWDD.

“The best part about this training is that a focus will be placed on maintaining the wellness of health care employees and healthy employees will ultimately provide the best care for their patients.”
