Lt. Governor Praises 2 College Programs

Colorado Completes! is a statewide master plan of the Colorado Department of Higher Education geared toward increasing college degree production.

Friday, Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia, who also is executive director of the department, recognized both Pueblo Community College and Colorado State University-Pueblo for their successful programs toward that goal.

The two colleges were among eight Colorado institutions of higher learning selected from a pool of 30 that submitted initiatives to Colorado Completes!

The Pueblo Community College program celebrated by Garcia is a groundbreaking partnership between the college and St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center. This joint effort has resulted in the establishment, at the hospital, of a simulation center that provides state-of-the-art interactive educational opportunities for the school’s nursing, EMS and respiratory care students, as well as a surgical technology program.
